Consett Academy is only a 5‑minute drive from Leadgate Meadows, offering high‑quality secondary education and a sixth form. Derwentside College is approximately 6 minutes away, providing an extensive choice of further education courses and vocational training. 

The North East is also home to several outstanding universities, such as Durham and Newcastle University, all easily accessible by road or public transport.
